Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt Tag

Untitled 17.pngTime for another tag! This is one that I’ve seen done a few times, mostly on booktube but I still always thought that it looked really fun! It’s a super simple tag, just find books on your shelves that fit the criteria. The only tricky one for me was number three, but that’s honestly because I didn’t feel like getting up. I can’t find where this tag originated butttt I found it right here! The only other rule is to tag three people when you’re done so those will be at the end of the post!

one// Find an author name or title with a Z in it.
The FitzOsbornes in Exile by Michelle Cooper

two// Find a classic.
Dracula by Bram Stoker (which I still really need to read)

three// Find a book with a key on it.
A Spy In The House (The Agency #1) by Y.S. Lee. The E in agency is a key which is pretty clever.

four// Find something on your bookshelf that is not a book.
There’s a few things but I just bought a Christmas tree ornament that’s a moose and it’s on my shelf because I love it.

five// Find the oldest book on your shelf.
Probably my copy of Irish Chain by Barbara Haworth-Attard. It’s not super old or anything but I’ve had it since I was in elementary school and I’m now 24, so it’s been a while.

six// Find a book with a girl on it.
How about Prudence by Gail Carriger, such an underrated series and author.

seven// Find a book that has an animal in it.
There’s a whole bunch of dogs in The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

eight// Find a book with a male protagonist.
Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli! I just saw the trailer for the movie and I’m dying! So good.

nine// Find a book with only words on the cover.
The closest that I have is Kisses and Curses which is a short story collection by various authors. Not sure if it counts but that’s all I can find. Oh maybe Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay?

ten// Find a book with illustrations in it.
The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur.

eleven// Find a book with gold lettering.
I have a fancy copy of Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo that has gold lettering. Not sure which addition it is since I got it from Book Outlet but it’s very pretty.

twelve// Find a diary, true or fictional.
The Montmaray Journals by Michelle Cooper! The whole trilogy is told through fictional journal entries and it’s soooo good.

thirteen// Find a book written by an author with a common name (like Smith)
As someone with the last name Smith I think it’s rude to constantly point out that it’s the most common. What about Jones? Or White is pretty common? I mean I’m gonna go with Smith because it’s a club and we need to support each other so, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith.

fourteen// Find a book with a close up of something on it.
How about Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman. I have the original cover with a close up of a sword on it!

fifteen// Find a book on your shelf that takes place in the earliest time period.
Probably The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry? But there’s also Legacy of Kings and I don’t feel like checking which one is first so let’s just go with whatever one is accurate, thank you.

sixteen// Find a hardcover book without a jacket.
My copy of Dracula doesn’t have a jacket because it’s just pretty so?

seventeen// Find a teal/turquoise coloured book.
I think that the most accurate is Jackaby by William Ritter.

eighteen// Find a book with stars on it.
All the books in the Starbound Trilogy by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner? All the covers have space on them so there’s got to be stars? (There is definitely stars on These Broken Stars so I win)

nineteen// Find a non YA book.
How about Call Me Zelda by Erika Robuck which sounds great but I still haven’t read.

So there we go, super easy but still fun! I honestly just like looking at all my books so looking at them with a purpose was pretty fun. So for the people I tag we have Ally at AllyWritesThings, Theresa at TheCalicoBooks and LaRonda at FlyingPaperbacks! I love all their blogs and I’d love to see what they have on their shelves. (Unless you guys have already done it/don’t want to bc I’ll still love all your posts)
