The Christmas Song Book Tag

Untitled 1.pngAnother tag! And a holiday themed one! And one that I didn’t just choose myself! Thank you so much to Theresa at The Calico Books for tagging me in this one! I loved reading your answers and this one was so much fun to do! I love me a good tag, especially if it’s based around music so this was neat to try and find answers for!

Untitled 2.pngone// “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch”: Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.
I mean it’s obvious that I’m going to pick The Darkling right? The Shadow and Bone Trilogy is one of my favourites and it’s mostly because of him. He’s awful, but he’s also one of my favourite villains and I just love him. I love him so, so much.

two// “All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?
The Pearl Thief by Elizabeth Wein! This is the book that I almost spent my grocery money on because I’m so excited to read it and I need it in my life. I love the main character from her other book so much and I need to read more about her.

three// “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”: Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.
The first one that popped into my head is Kittyhawk from Code Name Verity. I don’t want to give anything away because you definitely need to go into that book with as little information as possible, but she’s amazing so her. Also Harry Potter though because duh.

Untitled 3.pngfour// “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”: a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list? b)Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?
For the naughty list I think we’ll go with Piper from Nightstruck. If you’ve read the book I’m sure that you’ll agree because my goodness that book is dark and messed up (and I love it) For the nice list we really have to go with Cedric from Harry Potter. I love him so much and he’s just the sweetest and deserves all the best things always.

five//“Frosty the Snowman”: Which book just melts your heart?
Honestly the ending of Crooked Kingdom had me a mess because of so many reasons, but for a few of my main baby crows it was just too much for my heart to handle. Just too much.

six//“Feliz Navidad”: Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.
How about Silver in the Blood because it takes place in so many countries, America, France, Romania, and I think a few more. It’s also just a really good book.

Untitled 4.pngseven// “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year”: Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?
Probably Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares because it’s so cute and so Christmasy and just kind of the perfect holiday read. It’s also only 1 of 2 holiday themed books that I own so it’ll have to do!

eight// “Sleigh Ride”: Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with? (doesn’t have to be a love interest)
Harry Potter!! Half because I want to go to Hogwarts and half because I feel like he’s always so happy during the holidays (mostly) and then I’d also get to spend that time with all the Weasleys’ and ugh yes perfect.

nine//“Baby It’s Cold Outside”: Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?
Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. I hate that book and everything it pretends to be and everything that it inspired and I would literally throw it in a fire if I ever get the chance.

ten// “Do You Hear What I Hear-“: Which book do you think that everyone should read?
Honestly there’s so many and it really does come down to personal preference but I stand by the fact that Code Name Verity is the most amazing book that I’ve eve read and I truly believe that it’s something everyone should experience.

There we go, I definitely did my best and this was so much fun! For this one I tag, Ally from Ally Writes Things, Lucy-May from Writing Wolves, LaRonda from Flying Paperbacks and Jasmine from How Useful It Is!

  1. This tag is really cool and the Darkling really is a great villain. I really enjoyed the Grisha trilogy and he’s definitely one of the reasons why I did, even though he’s kinda terrifying (the world-building is the other reason, because it’s just soooo good) 😍
And Cedric Diggory is one top of the nice list and every other good list, ever!!! 💕
