Dashing Through The Snow Book Tag

Untitled 12.pngHelloooooo and welcome to the first of the festive blog posts! I’ve found a few really fun winter and Christmas book tags that I think will be fun to do and will just add some festive spirit to the blog! Strangely enough I’m not really in the Christmas spirit just yet, I think it might be because our oven isn’t working so I haven’t been able to have any shortbread yet. Honestly a very tragic thing because I make very good shortbread. I won’t give myself much but I will give myself that aha.

This first tag that I found is from a few years ago so I’m not going to bother tagging anyone because I’m sure that everyone has already done it! Please let me know if you do decide to do it though because it was super fun!

THE RULES:

  1. Thank the curator, A Stranger’s Guide to Novels
  2. Tag 5 people to spread the Christmas joy!
  3. Have fun!

Capture.PNGName a book you want to see under your Christmas tree.
I’d be so happy with any books for Christmas but I think the one that would be the most exciting is Sawkill Girls by Claire LeGrand. I’ve heard so many good things about it and it seems like the best gloomy January read.

A book you’ll be reading during the Christmas season.
It’s definitely not a seasonally appropriate book but I really think that I’ll read Girls of Paper and Fire by Natash Ngan in December. It seems like a fun and cozy fantasy to read on a cold day. I also might do a reread of Harry Potter, I usually read them every year but I was going to skip this year but who knows.

Favourite Christmas movie.
I’m not really a movie person or a Christmas movie person so my personal favourite is The Nightmare Before Christmas. You can try and tell me that it’s not a Christmas movie but I’m gonna have to disagree with that.

Do you like snow?
Nopeeee. I’m fine with it as long as I don’t have to leave the house, but as soon as I have to drive to work at 5 in the morning before the plows have been out and it’s a blizzard I am not happy. Life in Southern Ontario my friends, no thank you.

Name a character you would like to spend your Christmas day with.
It’s probably a really common answer and I don’t doubt that it seems like a cop out but I’m going with Harry Potter. I feel like he’s just always so excited about the holiday and I think it would be so nice to hang out with him.

Give! Honestly I’m so proud of myself when I remember specific things that people want and I can actually get them. I don’t always have the most money so when I can give people gifts I’m always really happy because everyone in my life deserves everything.

What fictional place would you like to spend Christmas at?
Another easy answer but it really has to be Hogwarts. How could it be anything other than a giant magical castle?

Fondest Christmas memory?
It’s definitely the year I was 9 and my dad surprised us with our cat Buzz. When my brother and I went downstairs on Christmas morning there was a little kitten curled up with my dad on the couch and I will never ever forget the joy I felt when I saw him. He ended up being my best friend for 15 years, unfortunately we lost him this year but I love him with my whole heart and I’ll never forget that first day playing with him and watching him rip around the basement. (That’s actually where we got the name Buzz, he “buzzed around so fast like a bee”)

Can you say Christmas tree 10x FAST in a row (pronouncing it correctly!)
Kinda! I don’t know if I did it fast enough but I did it as fast as I could and I did it! I’ll take it aha.
