Hello and welcome to the first haul post of 2019! I don’t tend to do too many hauls, and I definitely don’t order from BookOutlet as much as I’d like, so when I do it’s always exciting! I’ve been buying mostly ebooks lately so this is even more exciting! Honestly I’m just so so thrilled about every single book that I ordered and I’m so happy that I have so many new things to read. This was just going to be a BookOutlet haul but then things happened and I have a few things from Chapters as well so here we are. I really just bought this many because of the boxing week sales and Christmas money so I imagine it’ll be about a year before I do another haul this big.
First we’ll talk about what I got from Chapters because it’s a much smaller pile! I really just made this order because there was one book I really wanted but didn’t want to go to the actual store to get. I know. I’m on a real non fiction kick right now and I knew that after reading and loving Bloody History of Paris I just needed to pick up Bloody History of London. It was only $12 and I know that I’ll fly through it and really like it so how could I not! The other ones I keep saying I bought because I wanted free shipping but that doesn’t explain why I ordered 3 more instead of just 1. Ah well! My main reading goal for 2019 is to finish some series so I decided to pick up books 2 & 3 of a series I’ve been meaning to get to. Empire of Dust and Reign of Serpents by Eleanor Herman are part of the Blood of Gods and Royals Series and I am so ready to get to them since I loved the first one so much. I bought another one by Herman, Mistress Of The Vatican: The True Story of Olimpia Maidalchini: The Secret Female Pope because I thought it sounded neat and I do really enjoy the writing.
And now for the bulk of this haul, I don’t actually know the last time I was so excited about everything in a BookOutlet order so this should be great. I ended up getting 18 books so we’ll have to be quick about this because I don’t want this one to be that long.
The first one’s that I got were some more to carry on or finish some series and I have s many in this category which is amazing. The first, also most exciting and the only one that I’ve already read, is The Dire King by William Ritter which is the final book in the Jackaby series. I’ve wanted to finish this one for so long so I’m so so happy that I have this one now. The next is Now I Rise by Kiersten White which is the second book in the And I Darken series and I’m so ready to read this one and see where the story goes. I also picked up Just Dreaming by Kerstin Gier which is the finale of the Silver trilogy. (I think) I actually loved the first 2 books in this series and even though I have no idea what happened in the first 2 I think it’ll be an easy read. There’s also The Chess Queen Enigma by Colleen Gleason which I thought was the second book in the Stoker and Holmes series but is apparently the third so now I have to figure that out. The last series additions that I got are the final 2 books in the These Vicious Masks series! I finally own These Ruthless Deeds and These Vengeful Souls by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas. I’m definitely gonna have to reread the first book in this series but I’m still excited.
The next ones are just ones by authors that I really love! I just started reading Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore which is amazing and the most expensive thing I bought but it’s so worth it. I also finally got Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch, Suitors and Sabotage by Cindy Anstey and Bad Girls With Perfect Faces by Lynn Weingarten. I’m so excited for all of these because I’ve wanted them for so long and now they’re mine.
I also picked up The Gilded Cage by Lucinda Gray because it was literally $0.99 so how could I not? I also picked up Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer and House of Furies by Madeline Roux. I’ve been casually interested in them for a while and they were cheap so here we are. I also got a new copy of Dracula because the cover was nice and I think it’ll be easier to read than the massive copy I have now.
The last ones that I bought are some new historical non fiction ones to read! I’m still on that kick and super excited to read them all. The first one is Fever by Mary Beth Keane which is an account of the life of the woman named Typhoid Mary. I’m so curious about this one and it’s kind of different than anything else I’ve ever read so fingers crossed. I also got Ghostland: An American History in Haunted Places by Colin Dickey which should be great because I love ghosts. The last two are The Secret Rooms: A True Story of a Haunted Castle, a Plotting Duchess, and a Family Secret by Catherine Bailey and The Witches: Salem, 1692 by Stacy Schiff.
So there we go! I’m honestly so thrilled to read every single book that I bought which is rare and exciting. I’ve already read two and a half of these so that’s pretty damn good.
