February TBR + my reading journal!

untitled 1Still don’t think that I’m a TBR person but considering I absolutely destroyed my January TBR I’m feeling confident and we’re doing this. I’ve only got a few books on this months TBR because there’s a couple bigger ones and they’re all ones that I really want to read so I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself to get them read. I also thought that it would be fun to talk about my reading journal because I’ve been keeping up with it the past few months and I’m really proud of that! I was 100% inspired by Books With Chloe (and I’m still trying to figure out how to draw things other than little hearts so that it’s a bit more unique) but I love the process of filling it out as I read things! I knew owning a ridiculous amount of markers would pay off eventually.

The first one that I desperately want to read in February is Sawkill Girls by Clare Legrand. For Christmas my mom asked me for a few book titles and she ended up buying me the other two I told her. So for some reason she just bought me this one in January. I don’t understand her logic there but I am beyond grateful and so excited to read this one! I’ve heard that it’s super creepy, super feminist, and super good. So I’m very ready to read it.

The next one that I need to read this month, mostly because I’ve wanted to read it for years, have owned it for months, and the suspense is probably literally killing me, is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I think my fascination with Vlad Tepes is well documented and I’ve yet to hear a bad thing about this book. I don’t exactly remember what it’s about but I’m very excited to get to it! The copy I have is around 900 pages I think so it might take me a bit. Okay it probably won’t because I’m excited but I’m giving myself room to read it anyways!

The next one is an ARC that I need to review! I’m pretty sure it comes out in March and I’m really excited about it. I talked about it in my last Netgalley TBR, but it’s The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. It’s a historical fiction story that I believe takes place leading up to WWII, during the war and I think there’s a timeline that takes place in modern day? I’m not entirely sure but I adore that cover and the story itself sounds lovely and heartbreaking.

The last one is another one that I’ve wanted to read for years, and it’s on my yearly TBR for 2019 so I figured forcing myself to read it now would be good. And that book is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I’ve heard mostly amazing things about this one and it really seems like a book that I’ll enjoy. It’s been taunting me for years but this is the month that it finally happens. I’m determined.

So that’s it for my TBR this month! Pretty simple and straightforward but I really want to finish all of them so it should be good. Now I thought it’d be fun to show off my reading journal, I’m decently proud of it and it does have all my TBR’s for the past few months in it. Very exciting.

untitled 2

These aren’t all the pages but it’s the general idea! And I’m pretty happy with it! December was the only month so far that I failed at my TBR and it’s not eating at me like I thought it would so that’s something? I need to work on my printing (and on how to spell thirtieth apparently) but it makes me happy to flip through this so I’ll take it! There was no point in my sharing this other than the fact that I thought the TBR was a bit boring by itself.

Okay there we go! A somewhat easy TBR and a pretty boring reading journal update! Let me know what you’re planning on reading in February and if you’ve read any of the things I plan on reading!
