Okay yes I know that I write posts like this all the time but I just can’t help it. I love creepy books. I can’t watch horror but wow do I love creepy shit in general. I’m always on the hunt for new books that fit a very specific genre that I love and I’m hoping that some of these fit that description. I also think that I’ve talked about some of these before but that’s okay! My memory is short and if I don’t remember what I’m posting then I don’t expect anyone else to. (Also want to mention that the book that’s at the top of my spooky tbr is Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray but I talk about it a lot and I just need to buy it and read it so we’re not talking about it again)
The Rattled Bones by S.M. Parker
I actually just bought this one so I’m super excited about it. I’ve wanted to read it for a long time and now I can so I can’t wait. I don’t fully remember what it’s about but I think there’s a scary island and I heard it described as a “creepy feminist read” so I’m sold.
Hellworld by Tom Leveen
I picked this one up pretty long ago and I still haven’t gotten to it which is tragic because I think that I’ll really enjoy it. It sounds like a straight up almost horror type story, which I don’t read a ton of, but I think that it’ll be a pretty good story. Fingers crossed the writing is good enough to carry it because I’m really excited for this one!
Girls With Sharp Sticks (Girls With Sharp Sticks #1) by Suzanne Young
I’m a big fan of what I’ve read so far by Suzanne Young and this one sounds like a pretty creepy story so I’m in. From reading Hotel Ruby I know that Young can do the slow building dread and confusion pretty damn well so I think that this one will be a good read.
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett
I’ve read one other thing by Kim Liggett and it was pretty creepy but this one sounds about 100 times darker and more messed up so it should be good. It seems like the type of book that needs to be read in one sitting because it’s just so twisted that you have to find out what happens. I have a copy ready to read on Netgalley so I think I’ll get to it pretty soon.
Scythe (Arc of a Scythe #1) by Neal Shusterman
This one is on my summer TBR so it’s one that I know I’ll get to soon but I figured it was worth mentioning again because it seems really messed up. The premise kind of reminds me of another series that I’ve read that was super creepy so I’m hoping we’re good! I’ve also heard nothing but good things about this series so I think I’ll love it and that it’ll be really spoopy.
