July 2019 TBR

Untitled 33.pngWelcome to my most exciting tbr of the year! This definitely wasn’t planned but I’m so so excited about this because July is my birthday month! I swear I turned 25 about 2 minutes and now I’m almost 26 and I just don’t know where time is going. Now that that mini crisis is over though let’s get into this! I had already decided that I was gonna ignore any sort of goals I should be working on this month and just read whatever the hell I wanted but then I went and hauled a bunch of the most exciting books in the last couple months and I finally have time to read them! So I’m going to! I honestly don’t know how much reading I’m going to be able to get to this month, my best friend is a teacher and now that she’s off I’m sure that we’ll be doing stuff instead while she would be at work and I’d be reading. I’m still feeling pretty good about getting to all of these though, and I literally can’t wait to read any of these!

The first 5 things that I want to read this month are the Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan. I had so much fun reading a bunch of Riordan in May and I basically can’t wait to get into another series! Especially since I have all of these in physical copies unlike the last ones I read. They’re decent sized books but I don’t think that it will be too difficult to get through them all. The next one I want to read, and that I don’t actually own yet but will probably pick up on my birthday is The Arctic Incident (Artemis Fowl #2) by Eoin Colfer. I really liked the first book when I read it in June and I think it’ll be a nice easy read and I can definitely afford it so that’s easy to plan for.

Next I have a few new purchases that I am so ready to read, the top one on my list is probably Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson. I read An Enchantment of Ravens in one sitting last year and just loved it so much so I can’t wait to see what this one is like. I’ve heard that it’s nothing like their debut but that it’s incredible so I’m very excited. Next I want to read The Raven’s Tale by Cat Winters because they’re one of my all time favourite authors and this is another one that I’m pretty sure I can read in one sitting. Also it’s never a bad time for some spooky paranormal nonsense. Obviously.

The next two are ones that I got at the end of May but just didn’t manage to get to in June, and they also happen to be 2 that are on my yearly reading list. That kind of worked out since I’m just including them because they’re books that I’ve wanted to read for a very long time but if I can knock a couple more things off the list then I’m happy. The first, and most exciting, is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I’ve never heard a bad thing about this one and I can’t wait to read it (I’m kind of hoping that I can fit it in at the end of June because Pride since I’m writing this pretty early but I’m not optimistic) and then we have The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I’ve been so excited for this one for so long and I just love the way Holly Black writes the fae so I’m pretty thrilled to finally be knocking this one of my tbr!

The last one that I can hopefully get to is When The Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore. I’ve loved every single thing that I’ve read by them (from novels to short stories) and I know that I can finish this one in 1 to 2 sittings because I’m going to love it so much.

And there we go! My stupidly ambitious tbr for July. I honestly don’t know how realistic it is to get through all of these this month but fingers crossed that I can get to them! I was super careful to only include things that I’m excited for so that should help. It also means that August is going to be a catchup month but that’s okay!

Let me know what you’re planning on reading in July, and let me know what you think about any of the things I plan on reading, I definitely need help when it comes to choosing which book to read first.

  1. Happy birthday month (because of course birthdays should be celebrated for the whole month ❤)! I also still need to read Evelyn Hugo. All the hype makes me so excited to read it, even though it’s not a genre I would normally reach for!
